By installing and using Stillwave, you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language and intended to be read.
Stillwave is a wellness app designed to support people living with tinnitus. It includes:
Stillwave was designed by an Accredited Audiologist in Australia.
Stillwave is a wellness tool, not a medical device. This distinction matters and we want to be explicit about it.
If you have new or worsening tinnitus, hearing loss, ear pain, dizziness, or any concerning symptoms, please see your GP or audiologist. The safety screener that runs at onboarding is designed to flag situations where professional medical attention is the appropriate first step.
You're free to use Stillwave for personal tinnitus support. We ask that you:
Stillwave includes references to mental health crisis resources for the country you select. If you are in crisis or experiencing thoughts of self-harm, please contact a crisis helpline directly. Stillwave is not a crisis service and cannot replace one.
Sound therapy involves listening to audio at sustained volumes. You are responsible for keeping your listening volume at a safe level. As a general guide:
Excessive volume from headphones over time can damage hearing. Please listen carefully.
Stillwave is sold for a single one-time payment of $19 (in your local currency equivalent) through the Google Play Store. There are no subscriptions, no recurring charges, and no in-app upsells.
Refunds are handled by Google Play under their standard refund policy. If you experience a technical issue or are unhappy with the app, you can request a refund through your Google Play account within their standard window.
Stillwave is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. The information, exercises, and audio it provides may not work for everyone, and individual results vary.
To the extent permitted by law, the creators of Stillwave are not liable for:
This doesn't limit your statutory rights under consumer protection law in your country.
Stillwave doesn't collect your personal information. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture. The short version: everything you do in the app stays on your phone.
The Stillwave app, including its lesson content, audio generation, design, and code, is owned by its creators. You may use the app for personal tinnitus management. You may not copy, redistribute, or build derivative products from it without written permission.
The Tinnitus Functional Index (TFI) referred to in the app is a separate clinical instrument owned by Oregon Health & Science University. Stillwave's check-in tool is inspired by the TFI's subscale framework but uses our own paraphrased questions. For a formal TFI assessment, see your audiologist.
If we update these terms in a meaningful way, the "Last updated" date will change. Significant changes may also be communicated via the app itself in a future version. We recommend re-reading these terms when you notice an update.
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, where Stillwave's creators reside. Disputes will be addressed under Australian law where applicable, and otherwise under the law of your country of residence to the extent it provides you stronger consumer protections.
If you have questions about these terms, you can reach us at tinnitus.stillwave@gmail.com.
Thank you for trusting Stillwave with part of your tinnitus management. We've tried to build it carefully, and we hope it helps.
